How Van Nuys backyard access shapes hot tub removal
Many Van Nuys homes place spas behind the house, reached through a side yard or gate rather than a wide driveway. Photograph the hot tub, gate opening, narrow turns, steps, overhead obstructions and the route to legal truck parking so the crew can decide how the shell should be sectioned and carried out.
The two-person crew can dismantle an approved above-ground spa, carry the sections along the planned route and haul them away in one visit. Decks, built-in surrounds, sunken tubs, hardwired power and unusual structures need to be disclosed in advance because they can change the scope.
Truck-space tiers are $175 for a small load, $249 for a 1/4 truck, $495 for a 1/2 truck and $989 for a full truck. Concrete pads, dirt, sand and similar heavy debris are not accepted; the spa must be drained and safely disconnected before arrival.
